I live in a farm town in northwestern Illinois. The farmers here are not having a very good year, thanks to the weather and thanks to Trump's trade wars.

The strong winds and heavy rains we saw this weekend can knock down corn, making it harder to harvest.
And farmers are already behind. Spring flooding pushed planting season back by about a month, which in turn pushed back the harvest.
So far this season, the Peoria County Farm Bureau says only 5% of local crops have been harvested.
“We’re hopeful for a warm and dry harvest season until Thanksgiving,” Peoria County Farm Bureau Manager Patrick Kirchhofer said, “because we’re going to need that entire time frame to get the crop harvested this year.”
In 2018, many farmers saw record crop yields.
This year, Kirchhofer says they’re expecting to see a 10-25% reduction in crop yields.
UPDATE: We are going to get a lot of rain today. Not a good thing for the farmers.
