Vegetation in Paradise Valley, Petersburg Ranger District, Tongass National Forest, Alaska, in August 2011.
A comment I wrote at the Washington Post:
"Republicans pushed to open up remote and largely-pristine areas in Alaska to drilling, mining and logging while Trump was in office, from its southeast edge to the western Arctic and the Bering Sea."
I don't know why the Republicans want to destroy the environment. Maybe it's because they're stupid, and a few other adjectives I can't use here.

Biden officials move to reinstate Alaska roadless rule, overturning Trump policy

"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
