Deadly clashes flared around the country in what appeared to be the bloodiest day since a military coup last month. The online news site Myanmar Now reported at least 91 people were killed on the day Myanmar’s military staged a parade and other celebrations. The U.S. ambassador to Myanmar, Thomas Vajda, called the bloodshed “horrifying.” |
