"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

The coronavirus is a wonderful thing because even though nobody in my farm town is infected with it, I'm going to get $1,200 (which I don't need) from the United States government. Thousands of people are dying from the virus but that's their problem.
Anyone who files a 2019 return (or 2018) and earns $75,000 or less will receive a one-time $1,200 check, or $2,400 for couples filing jointly. In addition, those households will receive $500 per child. The check amount will go down until it phases out completely for people earning $99,000, or $198,000 for joint taxpayers. The Tax Foundation estimates this will cost $301 billion.
