Two Children Killed in Blast West of Iraq
ERBIL — A bombing killed at least two children on Tuesday in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, according to a security source.
The blast, carried out via an improvised explosive device, occurred in al-Nassaf area, west of Fallujah in Anbar, the source told al-Maloomah News.
He revealed that a group of children were playing near the site, and two of them were hit and killed.
Security forces were soon deployed to the area to search for other possible explosives, according to a report by Iraqi News.
The Islamic State (IS) is suspected to have been behind the attack. The group, while losing its last pocket in Syria, is moving its militants to the deserts of western Iraq.
They remain active through terrorist activities and guerrilla attacks against civilians and security forces.
The Iraqi parliament warned earlier the day against the alarming number of abducted civilians by IS, urging the security forces to address the issue via intensified security campaigns.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
