Once a month I give myself a raise. After paying my bills I use the cash I have left to buy more shares of AT&T which increases my dividend income. I plan to give myself a raise every month for the rest of my life. I don't need the money but it's fun to accumulate it.
Two important things:
1. Start investing at a very young age.
2. Never give your money away to charities. Only suckers do that. I donate all my income to myself. My favorite charity is me.
There are some atheists who give their money away to show they can be suckers just like the Christian morons. I think that's ridiculous.
Some other things:
Charles Schwab is my friend. It's my bank and my broker. No humans required but they are available to answer dumb questions. They love dumb questions. I used to ask lots of dumb questions but now I have everything figured out. Of course there's lots of stuff I know nothing about but to keep things simple I ignore what I can live without. Keeping things simple is my friend.
Seeking Alpha is my friend. For example for AT&T there is https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/T/analysis-and-news?analysis_tab=focus&news_tab=latest-news
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

Money is a wonderful thing because it pays for the groceries and lots of other stuff. I worship cash.
