argument to endow nonscientific concepts with what appears to be legitimacy, is

spurious and not based on fact.

Evolution is not mere conjecture, but a conclusive discovery supported by a coherent body of integrated evidence. Overwhelmingly, the scientific community, regardless of religious belief, accepts evolution as central to an understanding of life and the life sciences. A fundamental aspect of the practice of science is to separate one’s personal beliefs from the pursuit of understanding of the natural world. It is important that society and future generations recognize the legitimacy of testable, verified, fact-based learning about the origins and diversity of life.

This post is for Christians only.

This is my first (and probably last) "Be nice to Christians" post. I prefer that only Christians write comments for this post. Non-Christians, also known as normal people, can leave a comment here but only if they are responding to a Christian's comment. Please be nice.

I expect the number of Christians who write a comment here to be zero or very close to zero. Christians avoid pro-reality blogs because they don't want to make Jeebus cry.

If you're a Christian and you write a comment here, please at least try to be civilized. That means no complaining and no Bible thumping.

What I'm trying to do for this post is give Christians an opportunity to justify their beliefs. I ask them to first read this post about heaven and they're welcome to leave a comment there also.

Christians, please understand that I'm 100% certain all Christian beliefs are bullshit. I'm just trying to find out why you believe in these fantasies. I'm also hoping that if you try to justify your beliefs it will make you think, and thinking is the first step towards being a normal person, also known as an atheist.

If this post gets old or if this blog looks like it's dead, please leave a comment anyway. I get an email whenever a comment is published (there is no comment moderation) and I will respond. I will be here until at least the year 2059 when I expect to drop dead at age 110.

This post is not for debates. I don't like debates and that's not what this blog is for. What I'm looking for is a Christian who isn't completely brainwashed and who is willing to consider other ideas. I'm looking for Christians who have the ability and the courage to admit they have been wrong all their life about one thing or everything. Christians should try to assume everything they believe is bullshit and then try to justify it. For example they should say heaven is just wishful thinking, a childish fantasy for cowards. Then they should try to figure out how it could be true anyway. They won't do this because they don't want to think and they don't know how to think. Their natural desire to understand and their curiosity was sucked out of them thanks to several years of religious brainwashing when they were children. So they don't even try to think. If all Christians were somehow able to think their death cult would go extinct in a few days.

I'm now going to pretend that some day a Christian will read this post and he or she will try to prove me wrong. That Christian will try to think.

OK, Mr. or Ms. Christian, let's go thru the process I recommended. Let's temporarily throw out the heaven idea and then try to justify it. I suggest start with the heaven belief because without it nobody would ever again bother to go to church and then preachers would have to get real jobs.

OK, you just threw out heaven. Now what? How do you get heaven back? How do you justify this childish fantasy? Did you notice only a coward would wish for it? Did you notice heaven is impossible? Did you notice the idea there's a life after death is ridiculous? I assume you already know terrorism would be impossible without the idiotic heaven fantasy. Most important of all, do you realize how totally free you feel knowing there's no life after death for you to worry about? Now you can do anything you want without worrying about whether or not the Magic Man in the sky would like what you're doing. For example, if you wanted to kill a human baby and eat it for breakfast, you could go ahead and do that.

Guess what, you wouldn't do that. Why not? Because you don't really need a reward in a magical heaven (or a threat of torture in a magical hell) to act civilized. Being considerate toward others is what people do naturally. Millions of years of evolution by natural selection have made us this way. Without our altruism our species would have went extinct a long time ago. Even our closest non-human cousins, the chimpanzee apes, are altruistic, and they don't have a superstitious belief in a magical paradise.

Perhaps you want to go back to believing in heaven anyway. How can you justify this? Try counting the number of miracles required to make the heaven bullshit possible. Now try to wonder why a Master of the Universe would bother with it. What makes you so special that an all-knowing supernatural magician would give a shit about you?

Please understand Mr. or Ms. Christian, you don't need a make-believe heaven because you're living in a real heaven right now. It's called the Earth and it's the best possible place for us human apes to live in. We are a perfect fit for this planet because billions of years of natural selection made us that way. And thousands of years of artificial selection have made Earth a real paradise, full of custom made (by us) farm animals and plants that are delicious to eat. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and perfect weather (if you live in south Florida where I live). What more could a person want? I'm totally satisfied with this real paradise I live in, and I don't wish for eternal boredom in the fake paradise Christians and Muslim terrorists believe in.

Mount Vernon taxpayers will spend more than $900,000 for the process that determined whether an eighth-grade science teacher accused of melding religion and science should have been fired.

Magical Creationism is a symptom of a disease that can't be cured.

The disease is Christianity. It makes thinking impossible. This is why it's a total waste of time to explain scientific evidence to a Christian.

These people teach their own children to not trust science teachers long before they take their first science class. The brainwashing is virtually always successful.

Christians believe in Genesis. Anyone who wants to throw out Genesis (for example the world's biologists) has not been convinced by scientific evidence. They've been influenced by Satan to reject God's Word.

Explain Human Chromosome Two or ERVs or the ARDI fossil or other evidences for evolution to Christians and they won't hear a word you say. They refuse to read a book about evolution because they don't want to make Jeebus cry. They won't even consider the possibility their dead Jeebus was an uneducated moron.

This is why I refuse to waste my time with evolution deniers. Why bother trying to explain something to an insane subhuman when I might have better luck teaching science to a dog?

The incurable disease

I visited a Bible thumping church last Sunday morning. I never would have come near the place if not for an invitation from a minister's wife. The natives of this strange planet were very nice and extremely friendly. There were several handshakes and hugs from young women. It was like a paradise except it was an insane asylum. These incredibly nice people were batshit crazy.

It started with a very attractive woman at a microphone singing some Jeebus songs while everyone else (except me) sang along thanks to the words being displayed on the wall. These people sang pretty good and they really got into it, moving their bodies with the music. The woman at the microphone had a great voice but she unfortunately was as god-soaked as it is possible to be. Between songs she talked about god and Jeebus, constantly repeating herself as if maybe Jeebus didn't get it the first time. If there really was a magic god fairy, it would have been bored to death by these crazy gullible people.

The theme of this church is god loves the human ape species of planet Earth. God guides them and when necessary performs magic tricks for them. Miracles happen all the time, even in the 21st century, but somehow this supernatural bullshit never gets reported in any newspaper.

After the Jeebus songs (was I ever glad when that finally ended) a minister (there were about four ministers there) gave a pretty darn good sermon. I listened to every word because it was about science and I actually learned a few things despite god getting inserted into it for no good reason. The minister would sound like a normal person for a long time, but then he would start praying as if he was talking to god itself. Frequently the church members would say nonsense words like "hallelujah" or "The Word" (the word of god also known as the Bible).

The sermon which was about the branch of science called physics included a lot of Bible thumping with the Bible quotes displayed on the wall. Most of the church members had their own Bibles and they had no problem finding any quote in their Bible in a few seconds.

When the long sermon finally ended it was time for the Hispanics to take over and it was all in spanish including the singing, but this time there was a band with about six musical instruments, including bongo drums played by the minister who is the husband of the lady who invited me there.

I was the only new member. My name was announced and I waved to the crowd who seemed very happy to see me and a song was dedicated to me which was sung in Spanish very enthusiastically, while the lady next to me translated it for me. They were all the nicest people I ever met. It's too bad they were insane. Thank goodness they didn't know I'm an atheist (with an anti-Christian blog).

This experience convinced me it's going to take several more centuries than I thought to eradicate the Christian death cult from Idiot America. Right now it's an epidemic that can't be cured. It's for a good reason only 16% of Americans accept evolution without supernatural intervention. The other 84% are permanently insane and even the best science education will not cure their disease.

As everyone already knows, a deranged subhuman destroyed some people's lives in Arizona recently (6 dead and 14 wounded). This is a good reason to put idiots in asylums before it's too late. But this tragedy and how it could have been prevented is not what this post is about.

What bugs me about this disaster and every other disaster that gets reported in Idiot America is somebody always has to stick their Magic Man into it. Americans never miss an opportunity to show off how superstitious they are. Americans are well known for their stupidity and they are proud of it.

So I got 1/2 minute to make an important point here.

An actual conversation I had on the internet not long ago:

ME: "There never has been and there never will be any miracles. Miracles, also known as supernatural magic tricks, are impossible."

Christian: "Of course miracles are impossible. That's why they're called miracles."

ME: "The impossible never happens."

Christian: "You're going to hell."

I got invited to go to a Pentecostal church.

While waiting for a bus at night in the rain a nice lady gave me a ride to work, going way out of her way just so I wouldn't get soaked. She did this several times again, always when it was raining. She is very nice and very religious, married to a minister, and she constantly talks about the Bible. Eventually I got invited to her church and I thought what a great research opportunity so I gladly went with them to a Bible-thumping singing-for-Jeebus Pentecostal church. It was wild and crazy. For example the minister (husband of nice lady) played the bongo drums. Another minister gave a very long and interesting sermon that actually included a science lesson about physics. It would have been an even better sermon if he left god out of it, but that's not going to happen in a Christian extremist church. I was hoping the science sermon (god is energy, and other bullshit with some real science mixed in) would get to biology so I could hear him deny evolution, but he never touched that subject.

Later I invited them to breakfast and I asked what they thought about those biologists who want to throw out Genesis. They did not have a high opinion of biologists. I said they teach that evolution stuff in public schools. They said that's why they have to explain to their children to not trust those lessons.

Since we were having a nice time I decided to not mention a few facts -- Christianity is 100% pure bullshit, evolution is an established truth, magic god fairies are childish inventions for idiots. It wouldn't have done any good to say those things because these people were extremely god-soaked (heaven, hell, god, Jeebus, Satan, if it's in the Bible they believe it.)

What I learned from this experience: I'm going to have to add a few centuries to my time estimate for how long it will take to eradicate the Christian death cult.

Why are there are still millions of evolution deniers 152 years after Charles Darwin's Origin of Species?

In normal countries virtually everyone accepts our evolutionary relationship with the other modern ape species. In Idiot America about half the population denies this basic fact of science, and most of the rest think supernatural magic was a necessary mechanism to make the development of modern human apes possible.

What makes Idiot America different from the rest of the civilized world? Why are we virtually tied with the Muslim Middle East in acceptance of evolution and far behind every other Western country? Why do we have more in common with Muslim terrorists than we do with all of Europe (and other countries with educated populations)?

The answer couldn't possibly be more obvious. I could blame poor science education but the real reason is much worse. The problem is the Christian death cult, a disease which is out of control in the United States of Jeebus.

I left the following comments there, not that anyone will read them. The post is two years old.

Biologists have all the evidence. All Christians can do is invoke their Bible. They don't have any evidence. That's the difference. No evidence for magical creation. Tons of evidence for evolution.

He says "I know there was a fall." but he provides no evidence for this idea. He just says he knows it. Biologists, when they say they know something, they provide evidence.

He said while talking about "some Christians" "They have decided to place the teaching and opinions of man above the clear teachings of the Bible." Since when did scientific facts supported by massive scientific evidence become opinions?

He said "I happen to think the earth is relatively young." Here's another difference between scientists and preachers. Scientists don't "think" the earth is about 4,500,000,000 years old. They "know" it's about that old because there's a massive amount of evidence that shows the earth is that old. In fact, determining the age of the earth was one of the greatest accomplishments of the human race, and this preacher wants to throw out all that hard work because he "thinks" the earth is relatively young and of course he provides no evidence for this idea or any of his other ideas. Biologists work hard so they "know". This preacher who has never discovered anything just makes wild guesses.

Polls show that the less education a person has, the more likely that person is an evolution denier. What a surprise!
