Which childish fantasy has the most evidence, the Easter Bunny or God?
"The Easter Bunny. Children are told that the Easter Bunny will bring a basket of goodies and colorful eggs, and hide them around the house and/or yard for the kids to find. And sure enough, on Easter morning there's a basket of goodies and colorful eggs! Real, tangible evidence proving to the kids that the E.B. is real. The same goes for evidence of Santa Claus showing up on Christmas morning (as well as sightings of Santa at the mall, and other tricks like adult relatives dressing up as Santa, or a parent hanging sleigh bells from a tree branch and making them jingle by pulling a string), and evidence for the Tooth Fairy in the form of money being there in the morning in exchange for the tooth that was placed under the pillow the night before. Fictional as all those characters may be and fake as all that evidence is, for the children who believe in those characters that are real solid proof. And yet tell kids that a god exists, and where is the evidence? That's why just as with the previous big 3 of childhood mythology, parents simply make up lies."

"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
