Wall Street Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Regarding Peggy Noonan’s “The Democrats Miss the Meaning” (Declarations, Aug. 22): Ms. Noonan isn’t seeing President Trump’s supporters rise up in indignant defense after hearing former President Obama’s “unprecedented” insulting remarks about him at the Democratic convention.
The reason Trump supporters aren’t rising up is the same reason they can’t wear a MAGA hat in public: fear of being verbally abused or physically assaulted. However, Vice President Biden supporters can wear their candidate’s logo apparel anywhere. The Trump supporters are patiently waiting to respond at the ballot box.

My friends and I view President Trump as a man of questionable character and an abrasive governing style, but one who has successfully executed many policy successes, including the best economy in my lifetime. (I am 57 years old.) We vote Trump because we put our country’s (and our children’s) future above our personal likes and dislikes.

"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
