This was a big surprise. I use Schwab to buy shares of AT&T. Schwab has a long history of reducing the commission. This time they have thrown the commission out completely. People can buy or sell shares of anything for free.
"Schwab will reduce the commission to zero from $4.95 per trade, starting October 7, 2019, the company said."
Another nice thing about Schwab is their free checking account. Everything about it is totally free. Zero fees for everything. And also when I use an ATM to get cash, Schwab refunds the fee at the end of the month. That means I can get cash anywhere in the world and it's free.
