Radishes are a root crop that can be juicy, pungent, or sweet in taste. They also come in a variety of colors, including white, red, purple or black, and in terms of shape, they can be long, and cylindrical or round. Radishes may be eaten raw, cooked or pickled.
I live in a northwestern Illinois farm town, population about 12,000 people. I went to the farmers market to buy tomatoes but I was told I have to wait until July. So I bought radishes instead. They look like the radishes in the photo but they are bigger.
I like to eat farm animals (chicken thighs these days) and vegetables. Vegetables are a wonderful thing.
Here in Idiot America we have lots of obese people who love to stuff their fat faces with cake. Vegetables make them cry.
An interesting thing about where I live. Everyone is extremely nice. Our town is famous for it. It's the complete opposite of where I used to live, South Florida, where virtually everyone is an asshole.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
