New York Times: After Massacre, a Small Texas Cemetery Strains to Bury So Many Dead
"The cemetery’s caretakers never before faced the colossal dilemma they do now: How to bury so many people in such a short span of time."
"So Lynda Ragen, the owner of Vinyard Funeral Home, is talking to a Dallas company about borrowing additional hearses. Joe Garza, a local resident, is donating concrete liners for burial vaults. Audrey Louis, the district attorney, is rushing to provide money for funeral expenses from a compensation fund for crime victims."
I wrote about this stuff before. It's ridiculous to waste time and money on a stinking corpse which is nothing more than garbage, equal to a dead cockroach.
Just throw the decomposing bodies on a wood pile in somebody's back yard and light them up. To show respect it's OK to drink a beer while watching grandma and her grandchildren burn.
Wakes, funerals, embalming, coffins, and the other stuff, is a terrible waste of money.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
