"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

I played a chess game against someone in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. I looked it up. Orangutans and turtles live there and that's a good thing. It would be a disaster if these creatures went extinct .
East Kalimantan is an Indonesian province in the east of the island of Borneo. It’s known for its indigenous Dayak culture and rainforest areas like Kutai National Park, home to orangutans. The Derawan Islands, off the north coast, have reef dive sites and turtle-nesting grounds. Besides Derawan, notable islands in this archipelago are Sangalaki, Maratua and Kakaban, known for its jellyfish-filled saltwater lake.
