What I wrote, what a moron wrote, and what a brilliant person wrote.

WHAT I WROTE:

Do you agree or disagree with this Charles Darwin quote about science?

“Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.” ― Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man

Hannah J Paul, do you know what an airhead is?

Madam Sin Bin, what you wrote is fantastic. Many thanks.

WHAT THE RETARD WROTE:

Hannah J Paul

I would have to disagree. To positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science is not a fruitage of ignorance; it is a fruitage of those who in fact have obtained knowledge – of those who have learned and come to know that science is not the end-all and be-all and, hence, simply cannot solve each and every problem man faces. To illustrate:

Violent crime is a problem and has been for thousands of years. It impacts every level of everyday life. The level of violence, the depth it reaches, the degree of its depravity, the frequency and rapidity with which it is used against other humans is bone-chilling. Science is wonderful, positively impressive in so many areas. Yet it cannot solve the problem of violent crime. Why not?

Motivation to commit crime – no matter the degree – is found in the heart: the seat of motivation. What one really is inside. In the heart are found the attitudes, beliefs, and desires that translate into behavior. What aspect of science can root out the ugliness that is in the heart?

The V-LAP is an in-heart micro-computer. It travels through a patient's veins to the heart where it opens up and then sends data to doctors helping them give better treatments and allowing them to adjust medicines at an earlier stage. It is positively, utterly amazing – enabling those with heart failure to live fuller, better lives, allowing their physicians to personalize their medication and treatment. Google it.

But now, suppose that patient suffering heart failure and heart issues is, in point of fact, a violent criminal who has thus far gotten away with crimes. Can that V-LAP change his heart? No. But there is something that can. Something else that can move that person to change his own heart; change his own attitudes, beliefs, desires, and, consequently, his own actions. There is a knowledge that can do that – a Bible knowledge. And it is not AI.

John 17:3.

EDIT: Yes, asker, I know what an airhead is. It is “an area in hostile territory secured usually by airborne troops for further use in bringing in troops and matériel by air.” Merriam-Webster Dictionary. It is also a pejorative term used to describe a scatter-brained, stupid person. In which way do you feel moved to use it in the present scenario of your question? If it is the former, I do not see the relevance; perhaps you can guide me to it. If it is in the latter, I find it curious that a person would ask a question and then dissolve into name-calling because the one who responded to the solicitation did so in a way that the asker dislikes or disdains. When one is soliciting the opinion of another, should that not preclude an insulting reaction?

WHAT THE BRILLIANT PERSON WROTE:

Madam Sin Bin

The heart is that thing that pumps blood, airhead Hannah. It's not the seat of anything. That's a very ancient idea that needs to be discarded. It's fun for poetry attempts and trying to talk someone into bed but as a motivator for crime and other stuff...uh, no. Nope. Your take on why there's crime...sweetie. Good gravy. Could it be...nah. It's sinhearts and sin sin sin. Do you not understand how simplistic and insulting that is to centuries of people?

Science has also solved a lot more actual problems than John 17:3. I notice you're on some sort of a device proselytizing away. So why are you dissing science, chica? Do you think the internet and devices where we can access the internet are all...magic or supernatural in origin? They're not, by the way.

We can also get into the social sciences, which have also helped to solve a lot of problems. Mental health to understanding that shoving a bunch of people into a ghetto, then stripping them of any chances to improve their lives will generally lead to overall problems. Not only from that community but from those who feel they have to keep those in that community confined, overly policed and blamed for all the ills of that society in general. See EVERY GODDAMN SOCIETY EVER, kiddo. There's always a scapegoat for general and specific problems. Right now and ever, America blames brown people for everything wrong. A white guy can shoot up a church, he's a lone wolf with mental problems. A black or brown shooter, and hey, it's all black and brown people are violent thugs trying to end our country as we know it.

So why don't you stop preaching your copy paste crap and go do some actual scholarship into sociology, what the heart actually is [an organ that pumps blood] and what science actually is. Thanks, dollface.

Ignorance these days is being rewarded. Actual knowledge or expertise is seen as a threat or some sort of plot or conspiracy or that someone's opinion is equal to someone with twenty year's in whatever field is being discussed. That's in America, but I'm sure it's elsewhere. See Hannah's pat, simple answer. It's...umm.

Sorry to go off like this but sometimes you just gotta.
