We make strange and unusual sounds when we hear something funny (What is funny? think about that for a moment). This is all driving me mad. Am I the only one that thinks like this. I can't believe I am even typing this considering that I am just an evolved organism that originated from space dust. Also what is space? See it never ends."

Police in Dayton, Ohio, said nine people were killed and at least 16 injured in a shooting early Sunday and that the shooter is dead.

It was the second mass shooting in the U.S. in less than 24 hours and the third in a week. On Saturday, a gunman opened fire in a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, killing at least 20 and injuring 26, some critically. A shooter had killed three and injured 13 at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, in Gilroy, Calif., the prior Sunday.

The latest incident began at 1 a.m., the police said. Officers were “in the immediate vicinity when this shooting began and we were able to respond and put an end to it quickly,” the Dayton Police Department said in a tweet. The shooting occurred in the Oregon District, police said, a neighborhood of bars and restaurants that is popular on weekend nights.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was investigating, the police said. Police described it as a large scene and investigation.

The 16 injured were taken to local hospitals, police added.
