Religious people are always saying that life is pointless without religion but I don't get it.

How is groveling for eternity to a monster who drowned a planet full of men, women, children and innocent babies a purposeful activity?

Seems utterly pointless and ridiculous to me. I think it hilarious that some people still believe they have a magical ghost self instead of their consciousness residing in the brain.
