A comment somebody else wrote at the New York Times about the Republican Party. The keyword is "honesty".
My father, who, were he alive would be 105, is rolling over in his grave. For the better part of his life he was a Republican, the kind who recognized "the party of Lincoln", who supported civil rights, endorsed balanced budgets, and above all honesty. I imagine Lincoln too is rolling over in his grave.
