TEXAS - LIVE: 8-10 killed in Santa Fe High School shooting, sheriff says

ANTA FE, Texas - As many as 10 people were killed Friday in a shooting at Santa Fe High School, and two students have been taken into custody, authorities said.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a majority of those that were killed in the shooting were students. He said that the two people who were taken into custody, including the person believed to be the gunman, are students at the school.

Gonzalez said a Santa Fe Independent School District police officer was critically injured in the shooting.

A search of the school is ongoing, Gonzalez said. He said he has no information about explosives being found at the scene.

This is the 2nd amendment of our Bill of Rights. It is sacred and virtually impossible to change or be thrown out. We are stuck with it. Idiot America will always be a violent country and there is nothing we can do about it.

This happened two days ago:

A Dixon Police Officer confronted an armed male subject at the Dixon High School at approximately 8:00 am on May 16, 2018. Preliminary investigation shows the suspect shot at the police officer, the officer returned fire, and the suspect was injured. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. The suspect is in custody and is receiving medical treatment. No students or staff were injured in the incident. The Dixon High School and all Dixon Public Schools are on lockdown. Dixon Police believe the suspect acted alone and that there is no further threat to the safety of students or staff. Multiple police agencies are on scene. Further information will be released as it becomes available. Peoria Avenue will be closed. The Media staging area will be on the Peoria Avenue bridge.

The School unification point will be at the baseball fields in Page Park. Parents are to go there to pick-up their children.
