Quote mining: Quoting out of context is an informal fallacy and a type of false attribution in which a passage is removed from its surrounding matter in such a way as to distort its intended meaning.
Dishonest Christian assholes dishonestly quote mine Charles Darwin. They know they can't defend their moronic fantasies so they have to constantly lie about everything. I never met a Christian who wasn't a stupid fucking asshole.
This dishonest quote mining is from Christian Today - Getting over evolution: Is Charles Darwin's theory still controversial for Christians?
He later described the 'impossibility of conceiving that this grand and wondrous universe, with our conscious selves, arose through chance'.
This is the whole thing. Notice the obvious dishonest quote mining by only writing this: 'impossibility of conceiving that this grand and wondrous universe, with our conscious selves, arose through chance'.
"But I may say that the impossibility of conceiving that this grand and wondrous universe, with our conscious selves, arose through chance, seems to me the chief argument for the existence of God; but whether this is an argument of real value, I have never been able to decide. I am aware that if we admit a first cause, the mind still craves to know whence it came and how it arose. Nor can I overlook the difficulty from the immense amount of suffering through the world. I am, also, induced to defer to a certain extent to the judgment of the many able men who have fully believed in God; but here again I see how poor an argument this is. The safest conclusion seems to be that the whole subject is beyond the scope of man’s intellect; but man can do his duty."

In the 19th century Charles Darwin was an agnostic but virtually an atheist. If he lived today he most certainly would be an atheist.
Some more dishonesty in the "Christian Today" article:
"It's worth noting that Darwin himself intended no such fight: he believed in God, and though he admitted his theology was 'a muddle' – his main struggle with Christianity was not about how humankind came to be, but the existence of pain today."
Bullshit. Darwin did not believe in god. He was an agnostic. In his last years he never said "I believe in god". Christians are fucking liars. They lie about everything.
