Who wrote "Maybe you came from a monkey, but I was created in the image of God."?

It was an American Christian of course. Gallup polls have repeatedly shown that about 46% of Americans completely agree with the moronic "Maybe you came from a monkey, but I was created in the image of God."

There's a few problems with this bullshit. First of all the god fantasy is bullshit. And if we wanted to pretend a magic god fairy was real there's no reason to pretend it looked like a human ape.

And while we share an ancestor with monkeys, that ancestor certainly didn't look like a modern monkey because there's been 42 million years of evolution since then.

And what uneducated morons fail to understand (also known as all American Christians) we are much more closely related to the other ape species, and of course we are still apes.

How can half the population of an advanced country (we've been to the moon) be so hopelessly retarded? The problem is of course religion and the religious fear of science.

Here we are in 2013 and the never ending Christian war against science education continues. Most recently in Texas where Christian crybabies are complaining about the foundation of biology appearing in biology textbooks.
