I asked the morons at Yahoo Answers a question about the religious implications of evolution. There is a lot of fucking stupid in the comments.

If something as complex as the development of new species did not require God's magic wand then why should we pretend God's magical powers were necessary for anything else?

My book review of Jerry Coyne's "Faith Versus Fact: Why Science and Religion Are Incompatible" at Amazon.com

I'm half way done reading this fantastic book. Jerry Coyne totally kills religious stupidity. The god-soaked should read it even though they will never be able to understand it. Religion is a disease and usually there is no cure. The brain damage can't be fixed.

Jerry Coyne's Why Evolution Is True was a masterpiece as is Faith vs. Fact. These two books are priceless. Why Evolution Is True is the best book about the evidence ever written for non-scientists. Faith vs. Fact is the best book ever written for why the god-soaked are always wrong about everything.

Religions are destroying lives and this planet. The childish Magic Man fantasy and all the other ridiculous supernatural fantasies need to be eradicated. This book by the brilliant University of Chicago biologist is a good start.

https://www.amazon.com/review/R33F87HND8K523/ref=pe_1098610_137716200_cm_rv_eml_rv0_rv

Someone else wrote a much better review:

Dr. Coyne has produced a detailed and comprehensive refutation of all the most frequently encountered arguments used by theists to bolser the patently false idea that faith has value and is in any way A Good Thing. Faith is in fact, nothing more than wallowing in the "ignorance is bliss" misleading aphorism. This book should be a preamble to every science course from middle school to University. Faith is not "another way of knowing". It is a lazy way to give up on the sometimes arduous task of knowing as much as possible about the universe in which we briefly exist. Faith stands directly in the way of our efforts to make the most of this life.

At the god-soaked Wall Street Journal I wrote something about the ridiculous disgusting Resurrection fantasy that has to be real or else entire Christian death cult is bullshit.

I think the Resurrection is a very interesting belief. What makes it important is an entire religion completely depends on it being real. About two billion people believe in it (or pretend they believe in it). That's less than one third of the human population. Why doesn't everyone believe it? Perhaps they weren't brainwashed to believe it. Perhaps they notice the evidence for it is extremely weak, not something scientists would call a fact.
The Christians claim there were 500 witnesses who are now of course completely dead. Were those witnesses invented? Were they extremely gullible? Even if they were real and not insane, 500 dead witnesses are not evidence for anything. Fantastic claims that throw out all of reality require fantastic evidence. The Resurrection has virtually nothing.

Another comment I wrote there:

There are many comments about "faith". Is faith a good thing? I don't think so. This quote about faith I agree with:
"No one word personifies the absolute worst and most wicked properties of religion better than that. Faith is mind-rot. It’s the poison that destroys critical thinking, undermines evidence, and leads people into lives dedicated to absurdity. It’s a parasite regarded as a virtue."
-- PZ Myers, biologist at the University of Minnesota
In science trusting people and having faith is not allowed. Ideas must have strong verifiable evidence that can be repeatedly tested before those ideas become facts.
Religions are the exact opposite. Evidence is not required. You just got to believe stuff which is easy for some people to do if the fantasy is exactly what they wish for.

The letter that shows that Christians who pretend Darwin never threw out their disgusting cult are fucking wrong.

“Dear Sir, I am sorry to have to inform you that I do not believe in the Bible as a divine revelation & therefore not in Jeebus Christ as the son of God. Yours faithfully, Ch. Darwin.”

Charles Darwin, not wanting to upset his very religious wife, called himself an agnostic but he really had zero use for the moronic fantasy there's a magical being hiding who knows where.

The link is to Jerry Coyne's excellent website. I am reading his book "Faith vs. Fact" which everyone should read, especially America's Christian assholes.

2/21/2106 a prediction made by WSJ reader MAUREEN DIRIENZO about how Trump will defeat Clinton.

I heard people say Trump would never survive a debate against Killary, but I see it the opposite. What is she going to beat him on?
Foreign affairs---uh, Libya, Benghazi, ISIS, the infamous reset button?
The economy---extorts Wall St for big speaking fees vs. builds a real estate empire
Immigration---clear difference here, she's on the side of bringing in Muslim immigrants, very unpopular now
Women's issues---don't even go there
Income inequality--don't even go there
Free stuff---she's ready to hand out while Trump offers jobs and opportunity
I think Trump could easily squash her. She is shrill and old and desperate looking, he is gutsy and confident. Americans are tired of feeling like losers and being made to feel bad about themselves. Trump is the antidote.

I wrote a comment at the Wall Street Journal that made a god-soaked retard of Idiot America cry.

  • You should try accepting reality instead of believing in childish religious fantasies. Reality is a wonderful thing because it's interesting and because it's real. Accepting reality means you will have no magical 2nd life, no invisible friend watching over you, and nobody to listen to you talk to yourself.
Of course your kind are too afraid to grow up and face facts. The Islamic State terrorists have the same cowardly problem. Like American Christians reality makes them cry.
Another comment I will write if the censorship-loving asshole complains again:

Mr. Pastorius, your god fantasy is a mental illness, a common disease in America and the Muslim theocracies. There is a cure but first the victims must realize how sick they are.

I suggest you read a book written by a University of Chicago biologist to help you understand reality. "Faith versus Fact" by Jerry Coyne.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/scalia-the-music-critic-and-pew-policeman-1455840082

Another asshole wrote some bullshit. What I wrote:

Sir, instead of complaining you should thank me. What you have is a mental illness. You can cure your problem but first you have to realize how sick you are.
Your faith in what makes you feel good is not harmless. The magical heaven fantasy made the  9/11 atrocities possible, and many people ignore their health because they look forward to a magical 2nd life, a fantasy with no evidence that completely depends  on wishful thinking.
One of the many reasons I refuse to respect religious insanity is the brainwashing of young children. This is child abuse and it's wrong. The victims have all their curiosity sucked out of them. They grow up to be science deniers because they were trained to believe everything is magic.
Also here in America there is a never ending religious war against science education which threatens this country's future. Christians are constantly trying to tell biology teachers how to do their jobs.
"until you die and see who is right."
I see this a lot. The idea is nobody knows what happens after they drop dead. That's ridiculous. Biologists (and most educated people who are not insane) know exactly what happen when animals (including our human ape species) drop dead. We become a stinking pile of garbage, food for worms and maggots.
You people think you have a magical soul that magical flies to a magical paradise where cowards can have a magical 2nd life for trillions of years. I can't imagine anything more ridiculous. It's obvious reality terrifies you people.
This is what children are brainwashed to believe. They learn how be idiots. Some of the victims grow up and realize their brainwashers are insane. Other people never grow up.
I suggest you read a book written by a University of Chicago biologist to help you understand reality. "Faith versus Fact" by Jerry Coyne.

Another fucking retard said he would do something with his rosary for me. My reply:

Instead of reading the book I recommended you're going to talk to yourself. Education is a wonderful thing but you're not interested in anything that threatens your rosary.
Imagine living where everyone believed in a flat Earth. That's what it's like for me except people believe a magical master of countless trillions of solar systems listens to people on this insignificant planet "say a rosary".
2 quotes from a University of Minnesota biologist about faith and religion.
No one word personifies the absolute worst and most wicked properties of religion better than that. Faith is mind-rot. It’s the poison that destroys critical thinking, undermines evidence, and leads people into lives dedicated to absurdity. It’s a parasite regarded as a virtue. -- PZ Myers

Religion is the antithesis of science, an anesthetic for the mind that disables critical thought and encourages the acceptance of inanity as fact, and wishful thinking as evidence. -- PZ Myers

1/18/2016 at WSJ I wrote this comment about voting for John Kasich.

Not that anyone cares but I just mailed my absentee ballot for Florida's 3/15/2016 Presidential Preference Primary. I voted for John Kasich.
The actual Florida Primary Election is August 30, 2016. I might have to vote for someone else if Kasich drops out.

The question I wrote: How long can a death cult last if it completely depends on the ridiculous disgusting magical resurrection of a decomposing corpse? This was the best answer:

To be fair, Christians don't realize what their religion looks like to outsiders. As a former Christian I can say I never realized what those rituals and rules added up to, until I stopped believing in them and looked at them objectively.

An anthropologist, examining Christianity from the outside, would point out its many death-cult elements:

- Its followers worship a dead and resurrected demigod.
- The brutal execution of this demigod is considered an act of salvation, as a scapegoat for all sins.
- Followers ritually eat the flesh and drink the blood of this dead man-god in a weekly ceremony, in which his death is exalted and celebrated.
- Male priests and female initiates, in the most common sect, are forbidden from having any offspring. The creation of new life is a serious violation of the rules, and a reason for immediate expulsion from the priesthood.
- The religion's older writings portray their deity as slaughtering millions, ordering genocide and obliterating entire cities. This orgy of death is considered part of a perfect plan.
- Followers consider death as their ultimate goal, to achieve everlasting bliss. They don't believe this can be achieved while being alive.

Anyone, from an objective point of view, would consider this a death cult.

Believers simply do not have an objective point of view. That's why the religion can last for a very long time in spite of all the necrophile elements in its dogmas.

A god-soaked fucktard at the Wall Street Journal = stupid fucking asshole. My reply to what he wrote:

Hello sir.
"The Big Bang is not a natural process."
Says who? Can you imagine a scientist saying that? It most certainly was natural.

"the universal desire on his part to worship a deity."
Somehow I can make it thru the day without worshiping a mythical magical being.

"Jesus is Lord and Creator of all existence"
Your dead preacher man created nothing.

The rest of the stuff you wrote, including the disgusting ridiculous threats, can be ignored because your ideas are beyond insane. Your Magic Jeebus Man, by the way, is dead and completely decomposed. Good riddance.

"It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
In other words your loving god will torture me forever. Good grief, I do not fear your invisible friend. Children sometimes pretend they have an invisible friend but then they grow up

Sir, you are wasting your entire life believing everything you were brainwashed to believe. This is why I think religious indoctrination is child abuse.

A science denier did not understand what he was denying.

Science denier:
If evolution is the established truth, then why do biologists claim that different species not mate.  Evolution claims that is how we arrived at the current set of species by them procreating with each other.

My reply:
I think you misunderstand how evolution works. What happens is members of the same species become separated from each other. Since these creatures can no longer share their genes with the other group they are likely to evolve differently. A good example are bonobo apes & chimpanzee apes. Their common ancestors became separated by a river. Over a very long period of time they gradually became different species. They look different and their personalities are the complete opposite of each other. Bonobos are constantly making love. They would never kill each other. Chimps also make love a lot but they frequently get a bit violent with other groups of chimps. Some chimps are killed.
The common ancient ape ancestors of chimpanzee apes & human apes became separated and obviously they evolved differently because of the different environments they lived in.
I suggest google "speciation" if you're interested in this stuff.

"atheism remains one of the biggest liabilities a political candidate can admit to, with fully half of Americans saying they would be less likely to vote for a nonbeliever" In other words an American politician has to believe a Magic Man is hiding in some other galaxy. What a pathetic country this is.

What I wrote at the New York Times: "atheism remains one of the biggest liabilities a political candidate can admit to, with fully half of Americans saying they would be less likely to vote for a nonbeliever" In other words an American politician has to believe a Magic Man is hiding in some other galaxy. What a pathetic country this is.

From another comment:

"The purpose of the separation of church and state is to keep, forever from these shores, the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe, in blood, for centuries".

At the Wall Street Journal a god-soaked idiot wrote a list of things a conservative should be for. Some of it made sense but other ideas required throwing out science. Here is the stuff he wrote which is totally wrong.

A Conservative is...
Someone who knows this nation was founded by people of faith
Someone who believes the world was made by God 7,000 years ago
Someone who believes Creationism is equal to Evolution and just as valid.

The stupid asshole disgraces the Republican Party.

At Yahoo Answers I gave free advice about the stock market to a young lady who asked for it.

Mutual funds are ridiculous. Why share your retirement income with professional idiots?

After much research buy only the best Dividend Aristocrats. Look it up if you don't know what that is.

Best broker: Charles Schwab

Best place for research: Seeking Alpha

Hold on to those shares for the rest of your life, never caring if the stock market crashes because you are only interested in the dividends.

Reinvest the dividends, which you can do for free at Charles Schwab.

Keep track of your dividend income for income tax which by the way will not be very much tax or no tax at all.

Keep track of when you bought shares or when dividends were reinvested, in case you ever need to sell those shares (which you don't want to do) so you can pay the correct capital gains tax (tax is not very much or nothing).

Be careful. This is not a game.

The dividend aristocrats will give you a raise every year. Every time you buy shares and/or reinvest dividends you are giving yourself a raise.

The idea is a growing dividend income you can depend on for the rest of your life. If you stick with it, living frugally and buying every chance you get, you will be able to retire long before you're old enough to collect Social Security.

If you ever get fired (it can happen to anyone) then you can live off your dividend income and whatever you can get from the government until you get another job. The idea is never sell your shares no matter what.

Pay attention to the company's credit rating. Google moody's and name of stock to get it. If the credit rating is weak don't buy it. One of my favorite investments is JNJ (stock symbol, look it up). They increase the dividend a lot every year and they have the best credit rating possible. It's a company you can own for the rest of your life without having to worry about it.

Be diversified. There's a lot of excellent dividend aristocrats out there.

Charles Schwab charges $8.95 per trade. It's always $8.95 whether you buy just one share or a million shares. As I said before automatic reinvestment of dividends is always free.

With Charles Schwab I have both a brokerage account and a checking account, so it's easy for me to transfer money between the 2 accounts. The checking account is totally free, they don't nickel and dime you like most banks. To withdraw cash you get an ATM card. At the end of the month they refund all ATM fees so you can use any ATM in the world for free. To make deposits you can use direct deposit or mail them a check. They provide free envelopes, no postage necessary. I use a credit card for everything I buy (I recommend Chase) and I pay the whole thing once a month online and the money comes from my Schwab checking account.

If you decide to not reinvest the dividends the cash goes into your brokerage account, which you can leave there or transfer to your checking account (Schwab or any other bank). If you sell shares (don't sell) the proceeds go into your brokerage account.

At Charles Schwab you can do everything without ever talking to a human. However if you have a question just call them. They love answering dumb questions. They take good care of their customers.

Buying shares, hoping to make capital gains, is called gambling. Sometimes it works but you are more likely to get wiped out. Don't do it.

Since you have an extra $800 a month to invest, at the same time you can also reinvest the dividend income for that month (companies usually pay a dividend every 3 months). So instead of the free automatic reinvestment of dividends, you can just add the dividend to your $800. The $8.95 fee will pay for the whole thing of course. By the way $8.95 a trade is a good deal.

One more thing: Never trust anyone about what stocks to buy because they are almost always wrong no matter how experienced they are. Always do your own research and make your own decisions. Hint: If some people say buy and other people say don't buy it, the people who say "don't buy it" are probably right.

The fucktards at the Wall Street Journal deleted my comment.

Incredible. I tell the truth and the truth gets censored. What is this, North Korea?
Two obvious facts:
The migrant problem is thanks to Islam.
Islam is the most disgusting cult ever invented.
Unless of course you think there's nothing wrong with never ending violence and treating women like farm animals.
Suicide bombings every single day. Heads being cut off. Constant war between branches of Islam. Women forced to wear burkas. Acid thrown into the faces of little girls because they were walking to school.
But no, we can't talk about these things. We must censor the truth because being politically correct is more important than anything.
Wimpy crybabies need to read this: http://thereligionofpeace.com
This is what the assholes deleted:
The migrant crisis is totally thanks to Islam, the most disgusting cult ever invented.

Before my comment was deleted I got 4 thumps up. Also, a wimpy fucking asshole called me Islamophobic. The asshole's name: Timothy D. Naegele

"The more scientifically literate, intellectually honest and objectively skeptical a person is, the more likely they are to disbelieve in anything supernatural, including god."

"The more scientifically literate, intellectually honest and objectively skeptical a person is, the more likely they are to disbelieve in anything supernatural, including god."

Hitchens wrote about "faith" in his masterpiece "god is not Great, How Religion Poisons Everything".

"If one must have faith in order to believe something, or believe in something, then the likelihood of that something having any truth or value is considerably diminished."

This is from the last page of the chapter "The Metaphysical Claims of Religion Are False".
